Our Story
Advance Soccer USA (ASU) was founded by Thony Ngumbu and Kevin Folly-Kossi, two former players and parents of competitive youth soccer players who are very passionate about the beautiful game.
When our children began playing competitive youth soccer, we experienced firsthand how confusing the youth soccer landscape can be.
Like many families, we struggled to find clear, trustworthy guidance about how to support our children’s development and navigate the different pathways available. Too often, we received information that was fragmented, opinion-driven, contradictory, or difficult for parents to interpret.
Rather than remain frustrated, we created ASU to help change that. Our mission is to demystify the U.S. youth soccer development process and empower parents with the clarity, confidence, and resources they need to support their children’s soccer dreams.
Through education, curated development resources, and clear pathway guidance, ASU helps families focus on what truly matters in the long-term: helping young players grow into complete soccer players while keeping the joy of the game alive. We are convinced that parents do not need to be experts to make informed decisions that align with their children’s goals, development, and overall well-being.
At our core, we believe that regardless of where a child starts, the realm of possibilities should always remain open. Together, let's confidently maximize every player's journey!

Our Mission
We are building our work on 3 core pillars:
(1)
Make Soccer More Accessible
We intentionally disseminate clear, easy-to-understand information so parents feel equipped — not intimidated — by the youth soccer landscape.
(2)
Support Complete Player Development
We connect players and families to training resources that support long-term growth and help young athletes develop into excellent, complete soccer players.
(3)
Clarify Individualized Pathways
We help families eliminate guesswork and identify the most appropriate pathways for elite competitive players with college or professional aspirations, based on evidence, context, and long-term development.
Our Vision
Advance Soccer USA (ASU) wants to help revolutionize the youth soccer landscape in the United States of America by:
(1)
Keeping soccer FUN for soccer families
Ultimately, we want to help parents and players clearly understand how to get to their desired long-term soccer destination, without feeling trapped by imposed pathways.
(2)
Making elite soccer ACCESSIBLE to all kids
(3)
Helping develop EXCELLENT soccer players
